Cupcakes with Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting

by | Desserts | 0 comments

I was looking for a cupcake recipe and this one caught my eyes.
Surprisingly, the cakes turn out very moist and delicious.  I think these are my new favorite cupcakes.

The sour cream makes it so creamy and you cant even taste there is sour cream in it!
To realize perfectly shaped chocolate décor, follow the step by step previously explained in the: How to use a chocolate mold.

250 g butter
250 g sugar
6 eggs
250 g flour
10 g baking powder
Vanilla flavor
Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting:
64g unsalted butter, at room temperature
200 g  sour cream
200 g chocolate, finely chopped or naturally sweetened chocolate chips
Pinch of salt
20 g. cocoa powder
90 g. powdered sugar

In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. I use a whisk to make sure they are well mixed.  Set this bowl aside.
Beat butter until it is light and fluffy. Add brown sugar to the butter and mix until smooth. Add one egg at a time.
Once eggs are well mixed, add the flour mixture and vanila flavour. Mix until well combined.
Spoon your batter into cupcake cups. Bake at 180° for 20 minutes; oven and let them cool on a rack.

Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting:
Melt the chocolate in a heat-proof bowl set over a pot of simmering water.
Set aside to cool until just barely warm. (I melted my chocolate in the microwave, stir every 30s)
Beat butter until smooth. Add cocoa powder and beat again. Add sour cream and powdered sugar.
Beat and then continue to add in more powdered sugar to reach your desired consistency.
Continue beating until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
Frost cupcakes immediately.  Customize them with funny chocolates mustache!
