Crock pot turkey leg recipe

Grocery here often has fresh turkey legs and they’re very good! I love the flavor combination of garlic and herbs with turkey meat and this recipe fulfills my taste buds’ expectations! This is not meant to be a roast, but is meant to be fall apart soft – like a Mediterranean flavored meat. What I realize with this recipe is that you can experiment how ever you want.  You are always guaranteed very moist meat each time, with various flavors based on what seasonings you choose.

Ingredients:

Turkey Drumstick 50 g. olive oil 200 g. white wine 4  garlic cloves 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspoon nutmeg 2 teaspoons dried mint 1 carrot 1 medium potato 1 onion 1 L. of water Celery (optional) Salt and pepper

Instructions:

Add the olive oil to a crock pot pan and after 1 min. add the shredded carrot and chopped onion, celery. Sautee the vegetables until they are softened, about 10 minutes. Place turkey leg in Crock pot and add wine, simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Peel the potatoes and cut them into small to medium size pieces. Add water and cited potato, mint, garlic, oregano, season with salt and pepper.
Cover and cook on low for 5 hours until falling apart or on high for approximately  Crock pot temperatures vary, so it may be done sooner. Longer for turkey legs would not hurt it if you were gone for the day though. It would just fall right off the bone. Remove meat to serving platter and pull apart with forks until you have chunky shreds of meat. Use your broth to make gravy and serve with rice.
Tip: Juice can be thickened with flour or cornstarch for gravy.
