Carving cork stamps DIY

by | Aug 2, 2016 | Upcycled DIYs

I have fun plans for Valentines day cards this year, so i decide to make a heart stamp! If you have some old wine corks laying around you can easily carve your own little stamps! It’s easy, fast (and free) way to make them yourself.

You will need:

Wine corks (flat and smooth as possible) VERY sharp and good craft knife Pen Stamp pad or ink

Instructions:

Start off by drawing your design. Draw some simple things on the nicest side of the cork. I started off with a heart. Next, cut around your design with a knife about 3 or 4 millimeters deep, then slice the excess part cross wise. Be careful, do not slice the whole thing or you might cut off your design. little by little.
Time to test your stamp.  I used blue ink on all of the designs but you can absolutely use other colors. Deep them in ink or ink pad and stamp. Your design will look a bit imperfect simple because your cork won’t be perfectly flat, but it’s fun because it gives more charm! Have fun guys!. Make many different shapes! But don’t go cutting your corks after having a bottle!  LOL!
