POMEGRANATE YOGURT SMOOTHIE

This morning I started  with a tall glass of this beautiful Pomegranate Yogurt Smoothie. When you have a craving for sweets and do not want something overly sweet, I highly suggest making smoothies because they you can have a large portion unlike a tiny brownie that has little fiber.  Also, even if you drink several smoothies, it never will make you feel overly sugared out like a candy bar or a few cookies might.

Ingredients

2 portions
200ml fresh yogurt 1 small pomegranate 1 medium tangerine A small piece (2g) of ginger 3 tbs. honey

Instructions:

Pomegranate seeds put into your blender. Run your blender a few times so that the seeds are broken up. Place a mesh strainer over your bowl and pour the seed mixture through the strainer and press the pulp against the strainer to extract as much juice as possible. Combine yogurt, pomegranate juice, ginger, honey and tangerine in a blender and blend until smooth. Add more yogurt or juice as necessary, depending on your desired consistency. Pour into two glasses and garnish with pomegranate seeds. Serve.
Note: Getting hungry before lunch? Adding chia seeds, flax or oats will help bulk up your smoothie, keeping you full for longer. Not to mention they are a great source of fibre.
